The Community String Project (CSP) is accepting new students for the 2011 Spring Semester. Classes begin the week of January 24th, 2011 and continue through May 27th, 2011. CSP is accepting new student (grades 3 and up) and adult beginners and experienced string players from throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Students in grades 3 through 5 can sign up for violin lessons which will be held at Hugh Cole School in Warren and Rockwell School in Bristol. Students in grades 6 and up, and adults, will have the option of lessons on violin, viola, cello, or bass, held on Thursdays at Mt. Hope High School in Bristol. Experienced string players will play with the CSP String Ensemble. The cost is $150.00 for 16 weeks of lessons plus a $30.00 instrument rental fee. Bristol and Warren students who qualify for free or reduced lunch will be issued an instrument for $15.oo (maintenance fee) and will receive free lessons. All students and adults new to the Community String Project must attend Registration Night on Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 at 6:30 pm in the auditorium at Mt. Hope High School.
