as seen in the Bristol Phoenix last week:
The award-winning Rhode Island Youth Theatre will present a new East Bay program as part of its 24th summer of theater programs. Local children ages 7 to 16 can enroll in the production of “Seussical, Jr.”, a condensed version of the popular Broadway musical “Seussical”, based on the works of Dr. Seuss, with music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. Rehearsals will be at Mt. Hope High School, 199 Chestnut St., on weekdays from 9am to 2pm, with early drop-off at 8:30. Performances will be held at the high school at 7pm Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5 and 6. The registration fee is $290, with need-based scholarships and sibling discounts available.
According to the RI Youth Theatre website, rehearsals start July 25th and run from 9am to 12pm, with some extended rehearsals until 2pm to be determined. Registration forms are available at www.riyt.org.
