Roger Williams University has invited the public to join them this week at several events in celebration of the inauguration of the university’s new president, Donald J. Farish, Ph.D. You can view an events schedule here; today we’re looking forward to “Celebrations: a Performing Arts Revue”, in which students and faculty present a music, theater, and dance production Tuesday, October 11th at 4pm in The Barn dance studio (aka the Performing Arts Center). This free admission hour-long program will feature the RWU Instrumental Ensemble, students in a short one-act play, and a modern dance choreographed by New York artist Jenny Rocha. Also, don’t miss the week-long exhibit of Art on Campus, showcasing student and faculty artwork displayed and installed in common areas across campus. And if the weather holds, end the week with a fireworks display over Mount Hope Bay on
Friday, October 14th at 8pm (public viewing available from the North Athletic Field).
update- with rain in the forecast for Friday evening, the university has rescheduled this week’s fireworks display to Saturday, October 15th at 7pm.
