Take Me Out This Weekend!

Have you read the outstanding article written by Jim McGaw of the East Bay Newspapers, about the thoughtful and daring Tony-Award winning play “Take Me Out” opening at 2nd Story Theatre this weekend?

“Patrick Cullen didn’t blink when asked how comfortable he’ll be about appearing in the buff in front of 150 people at 2nd Story Theatre. In fact, he joked, lately he’s been naked on stage so much he may have already been typecast.”

You can read the full article here; “Take Me Out” opens tonight at 2nd Story Theatre on Market Street in Warren, and runs through February 12th.  Shows are selling out fast; visit our Theatre page for more information!

This weekend also marks the much-anticipated opening of Hope Gallery’s expanded space on Hope Street in Bristol.  On Saturday, January 14th, from noon to 6pm, Hope Gallery will be celebrating their expansion and seventh year of doing business as a gallery with a grand opening celebration.  Thirty-five artists will be exhibiting original, unique, eclectic art in various mediums. Light refreshments will be served.

It’s starting to feel like winter after all, so fight that urge to hibernate and stop by Gallery Eleven Fine Art on State Street in Bristol to enjoy their “Bold and Bright” exhibit January 14th to February 12th. At the opening reception on Saturday, January 14th, from 1pm to 4pm, you can catch a special ceramic demonstration by gallery partner Ellen Blomgren, owner of Mudstone Studios in Warren.  Feel the clay with your own hands while making small sculptures and hear Ellen divulge her secrets for making beautiful ceramic penguins.  Kids welcome! Ellen’s also got some amazing kids’ classes starting this weekend; take a look at the class offerings on Mudstone’s website.
